十万天兵撒下天罗地网，都被悟空一一打败。

玉帝正一筹莫展，观音建议派二郎神前去捉拿妖猴。

“Perhaps we can ask the sage Erlang to capture him,” said Guanyin.

二郎神本领高强，在接了玉帝旨意之后便率兵赶往花果山。

“Erlang is very powerful.” said the Jade Emperor. He turned back to the messenger. “Go to Plum Mountain. Ask Erlang if he’ll help us.”

二郎神与悟空在花果山大战三百回合，不分胜负。

As their skills were even, Erlang and Wukong battled fiercely for a long time. And no one can beat the other.

二郎神摇身一变，变得身高万丈，举着三尖两刃刀，狠狠地朝悟空砍来。

Erlang shook his body and suddenly grew much bigger. With his sword, Erlang leaped at Wukong.

孙悟空随机也变得和二郎神一样高大，挥着金箍棒冲向二郎神。

Wukong shook his body and grew just as big as Erlang. Waving his iron bar, Wukong leaped at Erlang.

悟空与二郎神缠斗了一天一夜，难分胜负。

Their weapons banged together all through the night. Till sun rose the next morning they were fighting.

悟空不愿再继续缠斗，转念间变成一只麻雀，飞到了树梢上。

“This fight could last forever,” thought Wukong. “I should try a different plan.” He jumped back down to earth and turned himself into a sparrow perching on a branch.

二郎神追到，看见枝头麻雀，知是悟空所变，随即变成一只老鹰扑了上去。

Wukong looked up and saw a hawk. The hawk swooped toward him. “Oh no!” thought Wukong. “That’s Erlang!”

悟空见状，立马钻入水底变作一条小鱼。

Wukong dived into a stream and turned himself into a fish swimming in the water.

二郎神又变成了一只鹤在水上紧追不舍。

Above the water Erlang turned into a crane flying after Wukong. The crane swooped down at the water. Its mouth was wide open.

悟空急忙从水中窜出，在岸边变作了一座庙宇。

Wukong shot out of the stream and turned into a temple.

悟空的眼睛变成了窗户，嘴巴变成了门，尾巴变成了旗杆。

Wukong’s eyes became windows and his mouth became a door. He turned his tail into a flagpole.

不一会儿，二郎神从山上追了下来。

A moment later Erlang came down the hill.

见到小庙，二郎神心想一定是悟空变的，便抬脚就要踢门进去。

“I never saw a temple with a flagpole before. This must be Wukong. I’ll kick in that door.

悟空听闻连忙变回原形逃跑了。

Wukong changed back into himself and ran.

正在这时，天上太上老君前来助阵。

At this time up in heaven the sage Laozi came over.

只见老君取下手上金刚镯，便朝着悟空丢去。

He took a metal ring off his arm. He aimed carefully and hurled it down to Wukong.

悟空毫无防备，金刚镯打个正着。

Cluck! The ring hit Wukong on the head.

悟空眼冒金星，倒在地上。

Wukong looked dizzy for a moment and then fell to the ground.
